Here is a list and a brief description of each of the 6 competitive JROTC teams at WSHS. Each competes annually in both city, area, and regional-wide competitions. For more detailed information, ask your instructor, or watch out for posted bulletins from team captains. |

A smaller time commitment than armed/unarmed drill team, color guard trains 4 and 5 person teams to carry the colors, or flags, of the US, the state, and JROTC at official functions (football games, special events etc.) and competitions. Cadets may request to join at any time in the year. |

Cadets learn how to handle and use air rifles in a controlled and safe environment under the supervision of an experienced adult range officer. Emphasis is placed not only on accuracy, but on safety and responsibility. Competitions are held in the spring against other teams from around the city. |

**For those interested, there is also a Knowledge Bowl Team and Ultimate Challenge Team (Orienteering) available. Rosters for these teams is more selective, and cadets must have either a certain skill set or prior experience, see the Senior Army Instructor for more information. |
